This is a classic #1 professional sitar made by Hiren Roy himself in the 1970s. Hiren Roy passed in 1992, leaving his son Himangshu to run the shop. Himangshu passed in 1997 and Hiren's youngest son Barun took over. All three were outstanding craftsmen. Sadly, with Barun's retirement, the Hiren shop is now closed and instruments from all of them have become increasingly sought after.
